The Greenhouse Airbnb Before & After

How it all Began

No matter how small, the more unique a space is, the more potential on Airbnb it has. The first time I saw the beautiful reclaimed wood walls of what would later become the Greenhouse Apartment, I knew this place had the “it” factor.

A beautiful nature view.  A perfect location on the paved walking trails. Who WOULDN’T want to stay here if we could make the inside sing as much as the outside? Thankfully, the owner was willing to make it happen!

Turning it into an AirBNB

By having the bedroom painted white and replacing the dark brown carpet with vinyl plank flooring, it set the stage for light and airy pictures. Because we wanted to keep the “natural” cement floor, we added a clear product intended to keep guests from slipping before we laid rugs down to keep it warm under feet. (and added an electric fireplace for an extra heating source)

We knew the apartment needed to include a full kitchen, so we helped sketch out a plan and the owner hired contractors to make it a reality! We created a small outdoor patio with a hammock for guests to enjoy the outdoor space.

As we got to know our client, it turns out she was a total plant mom. We don’t normally have the luxury of staging our Airbnb’s with live plants, but since she lived on-site in the main house above the apartment, she loved the idea of filling the apartment with her plants. The same was true for the Nespresso machine- it’s a special treat she wanted her guests to have!

After renovations were complete, we got to work furnishing the apartment on a budget and picked out the retro fridge to up the cool factor even more. With so many live plants in the space, we came up with the name “The Greenhouse,” and this one-of-a-kind Airbnb was born.

How it’s going

After 3 months of hosting, the Greenhouse has maintained nearly 100% occupancy and consistent 5-star reviews, creating a powerful revenue stream for its owner and a truly remarkable destination for its guests.
