What you need to know about Liberty University’s Graduation
Graduation weekend draws over 60,000 visitors to our little city, and it’s definitely the peak weekend for every lodging option within an hour of the university. Prices are often 2-3 times higher than the average nightly rate, so don’t be surprised with sticker shock. You’ll want to reserve your stay as early as possible. (Many hosts run their calendars 6 months-1 year out.) Just know you’re going to pay a pretty penny for this special occasion. Nothing’s Walkable to Liberty
It’s important to note that Liberty University is located along Highway 460, with the town’s major commercial thoroughfare, Ward’s Road, located just behind. What that means is there really aren’t any neighborhoods that would be considered “walkable” to LU, so you’re looking at driving no matter what. And since Liberty’s highway location allows for quick and easy access to other areas of town, we’re going to suggest the best spots nearby.
